GIFTS ranging from a refrigerator to a teddy bear have arrived at a women’s refuge.
The presents for the Durham refuge were from staff at the Belmont Grange Care Home, in Durham City.
Care home manager Julie Brown said: “We wanted to do something locally and we decided to get as many gifts as possible for the women and children at the refuge.”
The plan snowballed and staff, along with their families came up with many gifts.
“We were all very proud of how much we were able to collect and delighted to be able to help a local good cause,” said Ms Brown.
Because of the success of the venture, staff decided to continue collecting for the refuge.
