A DRIVER involved in a road accident which fatally injured a schoolboy has been adjourned until after an inquest is held into the 12-year-old’s death.

Joe Caven-Norris of Margrove Park, near Guisborough, died in hospital two days after a collision with a car just yards from his home.

Philip Peter Bellwood, 29, of a flat in Brunswick Court, High Street, Marske, is charged with driving a BMW 323i on Margrove Road without due care and attention.

Joe had just got stepped off the bus from Lawrence Jackson School in Guisborough and was crossing the road to his home when the fatal accident happened on July 3.

The inquest into Joe’s death will be held at Teesside Magistrates Court in Middlesbrough on January 22.

The court case was adjourned by Langbaurgh East Magistrates’ Court in Guisborough yesterday until February 23, when he will return for a plea to be entered.
