Folie A Deux is Fall Out Boy’s fourth full-length album, and although the group has grown exceptionally in their seven year existence there is a consistency musically to the group. Since album 1, to album 4 the music has stayed the same with barely no twists or changes in the style. However Folie A Deux is a vibrant album, and very very catchy, it’s probably exactly what the fans want to hear. Over the years Fall Out Boy have been unfairly hated, mainly because of their image or the attitude they portray but if you look deeper the band are a very talented foursome of young men.

The album kicks off with a cover of Michael Jacksons “Beat It”, and if you wouldn’t think they’d be able to pull it off but you’d be wrong. Track 20 Dollar Nose Bleed is great, a piano intro accompanied by Patricks unique voice with Pete Wentz’s weaving in occasionally. And if you’ve decided you are going to hate Fall Out Boy and won’t change your mind, you’re definitely missing out. Don’t hate them because their bassist is a media whore, or they’re a pop/punk band that lean more over to the pop side or because your internet friends tell you they’re the worst thing ever.

Folie A Deux is easily the most diverse record FOB has ever recorded, it’s very lyrically and musically challenging but they certainly nailed it.

Out Now.
