THE run up to Christmas has proved a busy time for budding young actors at one of the region’s primary schools.

First the Infants section at Bournmoor Primary School at Houghton-le-Spring presented their version of the first Christmas story.

The young pupils took part in a Nativity production with some home-grown dramatic moments.

Also taking to the stage were pupils from the Junior section who presented their version of the classic story of Scrooge.

The aim of the production was to convey the true meaning of Christmas.

After the presentations, head teacher, Mrs Sheila Williams said: “The children and staff worked really hard to put on such excellent performances, which were thoroughly enjoyed by a packed house of parents, grandparents and carers.’’
