REPRESENTATIVES from a football club have thanked primary school pupils for their fundraising efforts.
Darlington FC’s Football in the Community scheme, and the Quakers’ mascot Darlo Dog, visited Le Cateau Primary School, in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire.
The school raised £3,000 following a sponsored penalty shoot-out between the youngsters and Darlo Dog.
The funds will be split between the Darlington Football in the Community scheme and the school.
Five-year-old Jacob Sampson received a signed Darlington shirt for raising £286 and 65 other pupils received a signed football for raising more than £25.
Forty-eight pupils were given medals for individual contributions of more than £5.
The Football in the Community scheme visits the school once a week to give coaching sessions.
