ALL the fun of the big top will come to east Durham this evening when youngsters will be clowning around for Christmas.

Members of the Cheeky Monkey circus skills group are preparing to turn out in style to give a performance at Wheatley Hill Community Centre to-night. (Wednesday) The young people are all from the District of Easington Youth Forum, East Durham Positive Inclusion Partnership’s Out of the Shadows group and the Positive Futures organisation.

Taking to the stage the performers will give displays of juggling, unicycling and acrobatics.

The performance follows a series of workshops funded by County Durham Primary Care Trust, through the Active Easington scheme and supported by Easington District Council.

Pauline Walker, the council’s Social Inclusion Officer said: “The young people have devoted a great deal of time to perfecting their routine and are all really looking forward to demonstrating their new found skills in front of an audience.’’
