TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a vicious assault which left a man with serious head injuries.
The 27-year-old victim, who has not been named, was attacked in Beresford Crescent in the Thorntree area of Middlesbrough in the early hours of Monday morning.
He was taken to an undisclosed hospital where his condition was described this morning as comfortable.
The 22 and 27-year-old local men are helping officers with their enquiries, a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said this morning.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack and are asking for anyone with information to contact Acting DS Suzanne Kallaghan of Middlesbrough CID on 01642-303126.
