Navy aircraft carriers delayed

The Royal Navy's new super carriers will come into service at least a year late, the MoD has confirmed this afternoon.

The giant warships - the biggest built since the second world war - will provide work for hundreds of people in the North-East.

The delay is believed to be down to a multi-billion pound black hole in the defence budget.
