An appeal has been launched after a motorbike rider was left with leg and collar bone fractures following a crash yesterday.

Cleveland Police confirmed a Skoda collided with a motorbike at the junction between Ennis Road and Trunk Road in Redcar on Monday (April 15).

The rider suffered injuries after falling to the ground and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and on suspicion of causing injury by careless or inconsiderate driving. He was interviewed and released on bail pending further enquiries.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for any witnesses or people with footage (mobile phone, dashcam or CCTV) as enquiries into a collision continue.

“The collision happened at 8am yesterday, Monday 15th April, as a Skoda travelling eastbound along Ennis Road towards its junction with the Trunk Road was in collision with a motorbike.

“The rider sustained fractures to his leg and collar bone after falling to the ground and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

“Please contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number, quoting ref 068217 if you can help with information or footage.”
