A North Yorkshire catering company is celebrating its community in lieu of its new set of initiatives in 2024, focusing on the spirit of togetherness in the UK.

Bedale-based HECK! Food is a family-run business that began in 2013. Since then, community and business go hand in hand, as they manage a community fund which they contribute to every month.

The fund is used to help payroll community projects across the UK that are making a difference in their local communities. The Company often holds forums to bring individuals’ stories and needs to attention.

Jamie Keeble, HECK co-founder, speaking on how challenges can galvanise the community to work together, said: "Since we launched 11 years ago, we’ve been working to support local causes in the parishes close to HECK! HQ, but it was during the pandemic that we really saw the power of community to create positive change and how people came together to help each other.

“The HECK! Community Fund embodies our commitment to giving back, whether through financial support, volunteering our team’s time or helping community events with product and prize donations.”

The team’s community includes events such as ‘Souper Fridays’, a self-explanatory village soup-kitchen, and a senior citizen ‘Birthday Bash Lunch’ was also recently held by HECK!, which was met with praise from local residents.

Individuals and organisations interested in applying for the HECK! Community fund can apply on their website.
