A woman has been found dead in a North East property after paramedics were called out this morning (Monday, March 8).
Police were called to an address in Shields Road, Walkergate, Newcastle, by the ambulance service after a 49-year-old woman was pronounced dead.
Officers have confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 8am today (Monday), we received a report via the ambulance service of concern for a female at an address on Shields Road in the Walkergate area of Newcastle.
"Emergency services attended the scene where a 49-year-old woman was found unresponsive, and she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
"Her next of kin are being supported by officers.

“Officers are not treating the death as suspicious. A report will be made for the coroner."
A spokeswoman for the North Easy Ambulance Service added: "We were called just after 7.15 this morning to an incident on Shields Road, Walkergate.
"We dispatched a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader and two double crewed ambulances."
