A school has been forced to close after sustaining damage over the weekend, as the school has issued a statement.
St Michael's Catholic Academy in Billingham will be closed for years eight and nine today (March 11) after several parts of the building were damaged at some point over the weekend.
The extent of the damage hasn't yet been revealed by the school at this stage - but it has proved enough to part close for today for the several-year groups.
In a statement, St Michael's Catholic Academy said: "Due to damage to the school buildings over the weekend, we are sadly going to have to close school today to all Year eight and nine students.

"School is open today for those students in Years 11, 10 and 7."
Despite the closure, St Michael's has said that it will fully reopen tomorrow (March 12) for all pupils.
The statement added: "We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Once again thank you for your support."
