A teenage boy has been left with numerous knife wounds to his arms following a stabbing at the weekend.

Officers found the boy, 19, on Grainger Street in Hartlepool on Sunday (March 3) with serious knife injuries at around 6.40pm.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Two men, described as being dressed in dark clothing, are believed to have been travelling in a van shortly before the man was stabbed. The men then exited the van and left the area in the direction of Turnbull Street.

Police are now appealing for dashcam footage, witnesses and information as they investigate the case.

Detective Constable Ben Walton, from Hartlepool CID, said: “The man sustained serious injuries to his arms and was taken to James Cook University hospital where he is now in a stable condition.

“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses however we are still keen to hear from anyone who has information and has not yet spoken to police.

“I’d also encourage anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area shortly before and after the stabbing took place to get in touch with us.

“Any information, CCTV or dash cam footage – no matter how small could really help support our investigation.”
