A young dog walker has been fined for failing to remove her dog's excrement from an alleyway next to her house.
Adrianne Groom, 21, from Jackson Street, Hartlepool, was fined £220 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 to fund victim services, along with costs of £120.
Her offence was committed on July 5, 2023, while in charge of a dog, letting it defecate in the rear alley of Jackson Street, and then failing to remove the poo.
Groom's actions violated both the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and Hartlepool Borough Council's Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order 2020.

The court deliberations took place at Teesside Magistrates' Court on February 23, 2024, without Groom's presence, leading to a verdict that proved her guilty in her absence.
A collection order for the fine was made, with full payment required by March 22.
The total balance against Groom stands at £428 for violating public cleanliness regulations.
