Two men have been arrested following a spate of fuel thefts from unattended vehicles and machinery.
Cleveland Police confirmed they received a report of a break-in at a Guisborough building site on Wednesday (February 21).
Officers stopped a vehicle at the scene, and after searching it, recovered a large number of fuel containers, some of which contained fuel,
A man, 36, and another man, 39, were arrested on suspicion of a number of theft offences.
The 39-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs following an address search carried out by police.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Two men have been arrested after a number of fuel thefts from unattended vehicles and machinery at commercial sites in the Redcar and Cleveland area.
“Officers from Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team responded and spotted a vehicle which was stopped by officers and searched.

“Both men were bailed in connection with the theft and drug offences.
“A 39-year-old man was charged with driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to provide a sample.
“He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court in March.,”
