A horror film made in County Durham for just £200 is set for a sequel after reaching a milestone on Halloween.

The Devil's Stone, which was made entirely on mobile phones, has been viewed 20,000 and recently came second in an American online film festival - just days after it was released.

The short film features an A-list cast, including American actor Roger L Jackson who is the voice of Ghostface in the Scream franchise and provides the chilling voiceover at the start of The Devil's Stone.

"I will have a few weeks off, then script writing will start on The Devil's Stone 2"

The Devil’s Stone is the central feature of the landscaped area outside the council offices in the centre of Crook.

It is thought to be over 10,000 years old and called the Devil’s Stone because it is said if you run seven times around it, the devil himself will appear. The local legend is the central premise of the film.
