Popular Austrian DJ salute will headline Durham’s Loft nightclub in a special one-off set on June 2.
Loft, located on North Road in Durham, will see the DJ headline from 10pm-2am alongside other DJ’s from Durham University.
Headliner salute, well known in the electronic music scene for their tracks ‘Joy’ and ‘Wait for it’, will head to Durham after performing sold out shows in Dublin, Glasgow and Leeds.

Brought together by SNAFU Events as their 12th show, organisers say their shows are helping to bring “culture” to the city.
To learn more, The Northern Echo spoke to Brettan Garrett who founded and now directs SNAFU events that take place across Durham.
Brettan said: “I’ve been doing SNAFU for a year as I was at University here. I was growing so frustrated because in terms of the youth coming through there was nothing for me here.
“The idea was that from a very small investment we decided ‘let’s just throw these events’ and see where I can scale it, so I started SNAFU.
“It’s just chaos, that’s what we want to throw – organised chaos.”
Described on their Instagram page as ‘raw culture’, SNAFU has previously hosted artist Ross From Friends, who boasts over 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Brettan added: “All our acts have been centred around dance music, and giving an experience to young people similar to what they would get in London and Manchester.
“That was my aim, my aim was to bring culture to Durham.”

More of SNAFU’s recent success includes being part of Durham’s bid to be the City of Culture in 2025, and has been recognised in the student and local community for their events.
Now, hosting international DJ’s like salute, Brettan says it is the “cherry on the cake” after twelve previously successful events.
