Fans of comedian Peter Kay have been left devastated after spotting tickets for his new tour being resold for as much as £1000.

It comes after the stand-up comic announced his first tour in 12 years, marking his return to stage and comedy.

Many fans of Kay were eager to get their hands on tickets with plans to grab some during the pre-sale.

However, pre-sale tickets seemingly sold out in minutes, as sites crashed including O2 Priority which led to many fans share their frustration on social media.

But now after the pre-sale sold out, many fans spotted tickets being resold for upwards of £1000 on resale sites.

Some spotted front-row seats for Kay’s show in Leeds being sold for £1062, leaving fans angered and devastated.

One fan of the comic wrote: “To anyone who has brought Peter Kay tickets and is then immediately selling them… You’re the problem.”

Anger for increased resold prices comes after Kay confirmed that ticket prices would start at £35, the same price they were in 2010.

Following fan's disappointment at the sites crashing and the reselling of tickets, Peter Kay shared a statement on Twitter, writing: “We’d like to acknowledge and apologise for a number of technical issues customers experienced while trying to buy tickets for Peter Kay’s upcoming live tour via the O2 Priority pre-sale earlier today.”

 Adding: “‘SJM would like to reassure customers that substantial provision has been put in place for the main ticket on-sale this Saturday 12th at 10am.

‘Plenty of tickets will be available throughout the day so please persevere and please buy from official ticket outlets listed on the attached link.”

How to get tickets to Peter Kay's 2023 Tour: 

Tickets for the comedian's tour go on sale today (November 12) at 10am. 

There are a few ways to get tickets, the first is via the Peter Kay website which will take you to another site, Gigs, where you can buy tickets. 

You can also get tickets via Ticketmaster but will need to sign up and save bank details to make sure you can get tickets. 

Live Nation will also be selling tickets to the comic's shows when they go on sale at 10am.
