A busy North East road was closed for several hours after two cars crashed on Friday (October 21), with one person treated at the scene by an ambulance crew.
Emergency services were called to the A690 at its junction with the A19 at the Herrington Interchange, near Sunderland, at 12.40am.
The northbound sliproad was closed as police and ambulance crew dealt with the incident.

One person was treated at the scene, while the road remained closed for several hours as the vehicles were cleared.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 12.40pm today (Friday) we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A690 at Herrington Interchange.
“Officers and emergency services attended the scene, and no-one is believed to have sustained any serious injuries."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson waid said: "We were called at 12.43pm to a road traffic collision on the A690 towards the A19 northbound.
"We sent one emergency ambulance and treated one patient on scene."
