A WOMAN was trapped in the cab of her truck after it rolled over and came to rest on its side.
The accident, which involved three vehicles, happened on the Queenway North, close to the Team Valley Trading Estate, at Gateshead around 5.15pm tonight.
The woman was trapped in the Mitsubishi Warrior and needed the assistance of firefighters before she could be treated by paramedics.
After stabilising the vehicle, they removed the window to allow the ambulance personnel access.
The woman was then placed on a spinal stretcher and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital suffering from suspected head injuries.
The 19-year-old male driver of a Suzuki Swift and the male driver of a Peugeot 406 were able to get out of their vehicles and were not injured.
