A crash on the A19 in Sunderland this morning has led to a road closure and traffic delays.
One vehicle was involved in the crash and police were called to the scene shortly after 8:50am.
The incident had a knock-on effect for traffic as tailbacks became a serious issue with tailbacks near the A690.
Emergency services are currently in attendance but fortunately no one was injured.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Shortly after 8.50am today (Friday, October 7) police received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the A19 Northbound at the A690 exit in Sunderland.
“Emergency services are currently in attendance. Thankfully, nobody is believed to have been injured.
“One lane on the A690 exit remains partially blocked until the vehicle can be fully uplifted.”
National Highways said heavy traffic and delays are expected until approximately 11am, with normal traffic levels to resume by 11.30am.
