THE newly refurbished toilets in Redcar are now open.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council spent £140,000 on improvements to the toilet block in Moore Street.
Councillor Sylvia Szintai, the council's cabinet member for the environment, said: "We really do believe we have something to be proud of with the completion of these works.
"We know the public were unhappy about the toilets before the work was done, because they told us so. Now we've hopefully addressed all their concerns and we'd like them to come and see just what's been done.
"The main emphasis has been to create a facility that can cater for all users, including the disabled and young families, with the added provision of babychanging facilities in both male and female toilets, and junior suites suitable for small children."
