WORK has started on a £15m sports college for students in the Stockton area.
Pictured cutting the first sod is Stockton Borough Council deputy mayor Paul Kirton, with the principal of the new Bede Sixth Form College, Sujinder Sangha.
The building will provide specialist teaching rooms as well as a leisure centre for the students.
Andy Roberts,_space's managing director of architecture, said: "This building is unusual for several reasons. It will be triangular in plan and the college will have almost no corridors, as circulation will be via balconies or bridges around the two triangular areas."
