A rare win for Peterlee was the big news of the weekend in the 3D Durham Coast League.

They achieved their first victory for two seasons when they beat Easington and it moved them off the bottom of the league and up four places in what for them is unchartered territory. Glen Riddle (6-33) and Andrew Laidler (3-4) were Easington's destroyers.

Murton became the third team in as many weeks to take over as league leaders despite being held to a draw by Boldon for whom Karl Bellerby (82) was the star performer. Castle Eden were deposed at the top as they took their turn to miss a game and they were leap-frogged by Ryhope, who have been the other early pacemakers. Lee Gilbert hit six sixes and eight fours in a cracking innings of 90 as Ryhope defeated Silksworth by seven wickets by scoring 141 from just 21.2 overs.

Washington recorded a win over Seaham Park with Trevor Hindmarsh (73 not out) and Stephen Brooke (6-41) the match winners.
