Kids In Glass Houses are a five-piece indie rock band from the surrounding valleys of Cardiff. Their sound emerges into rock and roll with some added 80's twists. The opener Good Boys Gone Rad starts the proceedings off pleasantly enough followed by a good handful of new songs from their new album "Smart Casual" which is released on Monday. You would have thought the audience would be less reactive to the new songs, but the enthusiasm was sky high. Lead vocalist Aled Phillips conducted the Middlesbrough crowd to dance to their pleasantly created pop-power, and obviously the audiences' interaction was welcome.
The addictive, infectious Me, Me, Me was the highlight of the night, with the catchy lyrics and poppy chorus the words were being sung back to Phillips so loud you could hardly hear the band play itself. During the performance there is some reminiscence of bands such as Fall Out Boy and Funeral For a Friend in the band's music, and if they fall in the right direction they could possibly end up just as popular as them.
"Smart Casual" comes out 26th May
