YOUNG people from the region have called for better standards of sex education.
The call follows a survey in North Yorkshire by the UK Youth Parliament earlier this year that showed more than half of young people have not been taught about teenage pregnancy, would not know where to find their local sexual health clinic and have not been taught how to use a condom.
Members of the UK Youth Parliament will meet in Leeds today as part of efforts to help other people across the region campaign to improve sex and relationship education in their areas.
Youth MP George Lane, 14, from Kirklees, near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, said: "Every young person in the UK should receive the same high quality standard of sex and relationships education but, unfortunately, we know this isn't happening and too many young people today are missing out on vital information."
More than 500 young people are elected to the UK Youth Parliament.
A total of 400,000 young people take part in UK Youth Parliament elections each year.
