MEMBERS of the public are being invited to have their say on the future of dental services in County Durham.

A number of public consultation events have been organised by the County Durham Primary Care Trust (PCT) commissioning team.

The aim of the events is to get a better understanding of the public's perception of the current dental services providing an opportunity to express views about how future services are to be delivered.

Thereas Huddart, from the County Durham PCT, said: "We are hoping that these events will give the public the opportunity to convey what they really want in accessing dental services across County Durham and Darlington.

"We would like as much information as possible from the local public, so that we are informed what their specific dental needs and priorities are around dental services.

"Once we have obtained this feedback, it will form the development of an oral health strategy including target investment in areas important to patients.

"The outcomes of this process will be fed back to the public at a later date."

The events will be held at the following venues, between 6 and 8pm: Tuesday April 1, Bishop Auckland Town Hall, Bishop Auckland; April 2, Lamplight Art Centre, Stanley; April 3, Dolphin Centre, Darlington; Monday, April 7,Chester-le-Street Parish Centre, Chester-le-Street; April 8, County Hall, Durham; April 10, Town Hall, Spennymoor.
