KEEPING YEAR seven students from Wolsingham School and Community College have been paving the way for schools across the country by trying out a music project.

It was devised by head music teacher Andrew Fowler, who chose the theme exploring tribal identity and set pupils working on common topics across music, art, drama and English lessons.

Some students worked behind the camera filming and interviewing students.

They produced a five-minute DVD that was edited in the school's multi-media studio and shown at the regional launch of the new National Curriculum for Music, in Darlington.

On it, the students said they had enjoyed the project and learnt skills, including teamwork, independent learning, empathy and confidence.
