Correction: Boris Johnson
The Northern Echo recently published a comment piece by one of our correspondents, Peter Barron on our website.
The article wrongly stated that Prime Minister Boris Johnson had been convicted of a crime when he accepted a fixed penalty notice for breaching lockdown regulations.
We are happy to confirm that this was incorrect and are sorry for any confusion the error may have caused.
