THE body of a man was found in the early hours of Friday morning.

Cleveland Police confirmed the deceased male was located in Hartlepool in the early hours of the morning.

Although no formal identification has taken place, the family of the missing 20-year-old Grant Lowry have been informed.

He was last seen at around 8pm on Wednesday evening in the Hartlepool area and was believed to have headed towards the Summerhill area.

A statement from Cleveland Police read: “Police can confirm the body of a man was located in Hartlepool in the early hours of this morning.

“Whilst no formal identification has yet taken place the family of missing 20-year-old Grant Lowry from Hartlepool have been informed. Our thoughts are with them.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
