A NORTH-EAST cancer support group will take over a shop next month to raise funds for members.
The Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group has hired a unit in Newton Aycliffe town centre for a week starting from September 24.
Founder Allison White is calling for donations of clothes and bric-a-brac in good condition to sell.
She said: “As well as raising awareness for the group and raising vital funds to keep the group going, we will also be helping those who are struggling.
“Last year we had a few people come in needing a warm coat for the winter and they didn’t have any money so the charity gave it free of charge to them. Please get in touch if you can help.”
Tea and coffee will also be on offer while the group hopes to have someone from Macmillan Cancer Support’s welfare rights team as well as a primary care nurse on hand with advice.
