BOOK lovers have chosen the latest theme for a bench inspired by fiction.
Middlesbrough's newest book bench, unveiled at Newport Community Hub, has been designed around Holes – a 1998 comic mystery novel aimed at young adults, written by Louis Sachar.
An group from BridgeHill Day Service, an adult day service specialising in independent living skills and sport, have used their design and artistic talents to create their own bench based on the story.
Last year, Middlesbrough Council asked children to vote for their top reads from a book list compiled by teachers.
The top 10 titles have since been depicted on to book benches located in libraries and community hubs across the town.
