A FLAGSHIP regional stage venue has earned a nomination for the title: ‘The UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre.’
Public voting opened at 12-noon on Tuesday and the Theatre Royal, in Newcastle, is urging loyal audience members to show their support to help it secure the coveted award.
The UK Theatre Awards are the only nationwide roll of honour among the country’s stage venues.
More than 170 theatres of all sizes entered in the awards, which is voted for entirely by the public.
Theatre Royal chief executive Philip Bernays said: “We’re excited to be in the running for this competition once again. Being ‘welcoming’ is fundamental to us, making sure all our audiences have a great night out.”
Votes can be cast at: https://uktheatre.org/uks-most-welcoming-theatre/ with a closing date on September 18.
The winner will be announced at the annual UK Theatre Awards ceremony, at London’s Guildhall, on October 14.
