MATURE cannabis plants with a street value of thousands of pounds have been seized in a drugs raid after a tip-off to police.
Acting on information from the public officers executed a drugs warrant in Tankerville Street, Hartlepool, and found more than 200 mature cannabis plants ready to be harvested.
"These plants would be worth thousands of pounds to the drug dealer, but are now destined for destruction and not into the hands of vulnerable people," said a police spokesman.
The raid was carried out by Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team and officers from the Operational Support Unit.
"We would like to thank our community for providing us with support and information so we can tackle these drugs that bring so much misery," added the spokesman.
