A TOWN’S railway station has marked its 175th anniversary in operation with a community event.
Bishop Trains, hosted the Bishop Auckland Railway Station Community Event, including live music, a vintage bus tour, a vintage vehicle display and a railway heritage trail.
Luke Holmes, Bishop Trains community champion, said: “It went really well. It was great to see so many still came out.
“We also had lots of organisations helping us celebrate. It’s great to see people still using a local facility to keep it running.”
The Railway Youth Team, based at Bishop Auckland station, presented national charity Myaware with a cheque of £935.65 raised raised on a recent sponsored walk.
The group, aged between ten and 16, showed one of their model railway displays.
