NORTHALLERTON Town FC say they are expecting a bumper crowd when they entertain Darlington FC at the Calvert Stadium on July 25. The game kicks off at 7.30pm and supporters are advised to turn up early as parking will be at a premium. Admission is £6 adults, £3 senior citizens and children £1.

Charity star

JULIA Clark, the director of income generation at the Malton-based Encephalitis Society, has been named one of the 25 most influential fundraisers in the UK. The honour came from the Civic Society and its fundraising magazine. Julia joined the charity in November 2016 and helped oversee World Encephalitis Day in 2017 and 2018.

Skydive cash

A WOMAN who lost six stones to undertake a fundraising skydive raised £230 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Izzie East, from Malton and who wants to be a paramedic, completed the tandem skydive on July 1. She said: “It was such an amazing experience.”

Clean shave

A NORTH York Moors farmer who had his hair and mutton chops shaved off raised more than £2,000 for St Catherine’s Hospice. Andy Fawbett went under the clippers at the Feversham Arms in Church Houses in Farndale.

Hospice art

AN art installation has gone up in Pickering library as part of the St Leonard’s Hospice Sunflower Art Festival. It consists of 190 flowers, each one representing 50 miles that the Hospice@Home Team travelled across Ryedale in a year.
