HIT musical film The Greatest Showman has provided the inspiration for a dance school's newest colourful production, which opens tonight.

The Joanne Banks Dancers, based in Spennymoor, County Durham, return to their second home– the recently renovated Darlington Hippodrome on Parkgate, Darlington– for their annual dance extravaganza.

Come Alive will feature a selection of fabulous routines, amazing choreography and talented performances by 140 children.

Chris Banks, from the dance school, said the dress rehearsals held at Broom Cottages Primary and Nursery School, in Ferryhill, went really well.

The performers are ready to go on stage at the theatre where they have performed regularly for years, she added.

She said: "Come Alive is a show full of great dances and dancers.

"It has tap, jazz, acrobatic, musical theatre and music from all eras.

"The opening and finale are inspired by The Greatest Showman, it is a very colourful and pretty show which I'm sure lots of people will love."

The show starts tonight and runs until Saturday, July 14, at 7pm each night.
