THREE people have been killed in a crash involving two cars on the ring road in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the crash happened on the A1079 at about 8.20pm on Monday and involved a blue Peugeot 207 travelling in the direction of Hull, and a black Nissan Qashqai travelling towards York.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 44 year-old man died at the scene along with two female back seat passengers in the Qashqai, a 68-year-old and a 71-year-old.
The driver of the vehicle, an 80-year-old man and the front seat passenger, a 78-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
