HUNDREDS of children dashed their way through Durham city centre as part of an Olympics-inspired event aimed at getting people involved in sport.
The finals of the Warrens Durham Dash! saw 800 children taking part in running, jumping and throwing events on Palace Green.
Mark Blackbourne, race director of the Warrens Durham Dash! said: “We had a record number of children taking part in the Warrens Durham Dash! finals and it was great to see so many spectators cheering them on too.
“It was a real privilege to be able to host the event in such a stunning location – the setting and atmosphere certainly seemed to inspire the young people to deliver some fantastic performances.”
Pupils from 37 schools took part in the finals.
