COUNCIL tax payers in County Durham are being urged to sign up for online billing.
To encourage more people to access services online, Durham County Council will enter anyone who signs up to electronic billing into a prize draw, with the chance of winning an iPad.
Cllr Jane Brown, Cabinet member for social inclusion and HR, said: “We are always looking for easy ways for people to access our services, receive their bills electronically and view their council tax bills and payment history online.
“As well as being more convenient and efficient, it helps the environment too.
“Signing up to this system is easy and records are available 24/7, enabling people to use the system to inform us of any changes in circumstances in the future.”
Anyone who sign up before Tuesday, July 31 will be entered into the draw to win the tablet, which has been donated to the authority.
