A MAN who assaulted two policemen has been ordered to pay them compensation.
Scott Gregory, of Pine Tree Grove, Middleton St George, was found in his father's loft when officers exercised a search warrant on April 1.
Yesterday, Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court was told Gregory was abusive and spat at them twice, with spit landing on one officer's face.
He also attacked the other policeman with his t-shirt twice while in custody.
John Clish, defending, said his client, 36, has historic drug problems and was using alcohol to grieve for his mother.
Magistrate John Robinson revoked an existing community order on and issued a new one for nine months.
He also ordered Gregory to complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay £50 compensation to each of the two police officers.
