A FLOOR layer who works in Darlington has said he is likely to lose his job after admitting drink driving, a court has heard.
Jade Morton, who works as a concrete floor layer, was driving along High Northgate looking for somewhere to buy cigarettes when he was spotted "drifting over the centre white line", prosecutor Emma Barker told Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court
Morton, who lives in Wigan, was staying in Harrowgate Hill Lodge and had drank "a number of pints" in the pub next door before getting behind the wheel, thinking he was alright to drive.
Peter Hamill, mitigating, said it had been a "very expensive and difficult lesson" for him.
Morton was banned from driving for 16 months and was fined £553. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £55 victim surcharge.
