A MORTUARY service needs make-up and toiletries to help people retain their dignity in death.
The North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is appealing for donations of items including shower gel, soap, shampoo, conditioner and bubble bath.
The trust’s Mortuary and Bereavement Team regularly use such items in their efforts to ensure those who come to them are well cared for and treated with dignity and respect.
As part of their service, the team takes the time to wash their patients, style their hair and sometimes apply make-up, when families request it.
Anyone who has unwanted toiletries can donate them by dropping them into the box provided at the reception of the University Hospital of North Tees.
