A HITACHI worker who was caught more than three times the drink drive limit has been banned from driving for 26 months.
Jordon Archer, of Tudhoe Moor, Spennymoor, had been "drowning his sorrows" with his friend over a game of dominoes when he had a "lapse of judgement" and decided to drive, Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court heard.
Emma Barker, prosecuting, said the 27-year-old had failed a roadside breathe test and was found to have 111 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Kevin Campbell, mitigating, said Archer had not dealt with a break up well.
He was fined £711, ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £71.
