EMERGENCY services were called when a woman was found on fire at a North Yorkshire petrol station.
The incident happened at Dragon Service Station in Skipton Road, Harrogate, just before 8pm on Tuesday.
Police were called to reports that a “distressed woman was on fire”.
It is believed a passing driver stopped his car and put out the flames with his coat.
The forecourt was cordoned off by police while firefighters and paramedics assisted the local woman, aged in her 40s, who was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Pinderfields Hospital.
Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, and she is believed to be receiving medical support and care.
