MUCH has been said about the felling of the fine trees at Blackwell by our local environmentalists who have embarked on a campaign to highlight their demise by adorning hundreds of other trees in the borough with green ribbons.
Should one care to examine these ribbons one will find they are made of plastic which will take many more years to degrade than it will to grow replacement trees to maturity.
Environmentalists? I’m not so sure.
