A NORTH-East college has been shortlisted for a national award celebrating enterprise and business.
New College Durham is in the running to become Enterprising Learning Provider of the Year.
The college in Framwellgate Moor, Durham, has been recognised for its partnership with Business Durham and its development of new courses to encourage innovation and idea generation.
It has also been working with staff from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue as part of a drive to develop entrepreneurship.
Mo Dixon, vice principal of higher education and inclusion, said: “We are delighted to have been nominated for the Enterprising Learning Provider of the Year award as it acknowledges the valuable opportunities and innovation strategies implemented by New College Durham, that contribute towards providing a high quality learner experience.”
Representatives from the college will travel to the Houses of Parliament on May 2 to find out whether they have won.
