CREWS from four stations were called to a fire in a large farm building near on Thursday night.
Hampered by strong winds and poor water supplies, crews from Sedgefield, Wheatley Hill, Peterlee and Spennymoor, supported by flexi officers, managed to control the fire and protect surrounding buildings and livestock near Trimdon village.
