OVER 1,000 people from the North-East are expected to volunteer at this summer’s Great Exhibition of the North.
Hosted in Newcastle and Gateshead, it is set to be the biggest event in England this year and is free to attend.
Running from June 18 to September 9, it will tell the inspiring story of the North of England and how its innovators, businesses, artists and designers have shaped its present and are inspiring its future.
The event is expected to reach an audience of three million people, including more than one million visitors from across the UK and overseas.
Carol Bell, executive director of Great Exhibition of the North, said: “Great Exhibition of the North is a once in a lifetime event, and a big part of its success will come down to an army of enthusiastic volunteers who can help bring the exhibition to life with passion.”
