THE 14TH annual Darlington School Games Primary Dance Festival brought together 400 youngsters across 21 primary schools.
The event was hosted at The Dolphin Centre as part of a wider national school games programme.
Schools taking part in the event were supported to develop physical education and children were encouraged to get involved in school sport festivals and competitions.
The participants in the dance festival had the opportunity to take part in dance workshops throughout the afternoon before performing their dance routine on the evening.
Nick Wallis, the council’s cabinet member for leisure, local environment and transport said: “We are proud to be hosting the School Games Primary Dance Festival at the Dolphin Centre.
“The festival has developed into a great annual event on the school calendar with a fantastic number of children taking part. It’s an event children, teachers and families look forward to.”
